OK it’s time to start installing,
let’s take it step by step.

1. Somfy motorisation

Unclip your blind and remove your chain drive

A. Unclip your pelmet if you have one.
B. Remove your roller blind’s pin-end side from the bracket. It should be easy to remove. The cog of DIY blinds is made of clear plastic. To remove the pin from the bracket, turn the cog counterclockwise to pull it back.

Remove your roller blind’s chain drive end from the bracket.
C. With a light tug, take out your roller blind’s chain drive.

2. Insert your motor

Take the Somfy motor and insert it into your roller blind’s chain drive end. To ensure a smooth fit, align the tube profile with your adapter. When you install the tube correctly, your motor will be flush with it.

Prior to inserting your battery motor, make sure it is fully charged. At the bottom of this page, you may see that I need further assistance.

3. Point your charging port down

For easy motor recharging, make sure your motor’s charging connector is pointed toward the ground.

4. Put your blind back up

Grab your roller blind. Slot the pin end into the pin end bracket and the motor end into the chain drive bracket gently. It’s secure when you hear a click. If you have a pelmet, fasten it to one bracket and clip the other side in with a little power.

To make your aerial invisible, you can securely tape it to the wall behind your roller blind (for face-fit blinds) or down the inside border of your recess (for recess-fit blinds). To prevent damage when you open and close your roller blinds, make sure the aerial is not in contact with your blinds.

5. Set up your controls

The motorization retrofit is complete! To begin utilizing your motorized blinds, go to our guidelines and set up your controls.
