OK it’s time to start measuring,
let’s take it step by step.

Ceiling mount

1. Measure your width

For drapes that will cover the complete wall, measure the precise width from one wall to the other and write it down. This value will be your track width.

For drapes to frame your window, measure the precise outer width of your window frame or recess across the top and record it. Then, add around 30% to the overall width so that the curtains stack to the edge of your window. This value will be your track width. For example, your window frame measures 1810 mm wide. You’ll add 30% (543 mm), which gives us 2353 mm.

Don’t bother about measuring how much cloth you need; we’ll do it for you based on your track width.

2. Measure your splits (optional)

A. For numerous openings, you can select one or two splits and specify where you want them. Splitting your curtains is an excellent option for bi-fold and sliding doors because it allows you to effortlessly move pieces of your curtains to gain access to the doors.

Make a note of how many splits you prefer in your curtains. We will presume that your splits are evenly spaced if you do not provide split measurements.

If you do not want any splits, skip to step 3.

B. To create a custom split, measure the width from left to right and record the result.

C. Measure the lengths of each split location from left to right and record them for two bespoke splits.

3. Measure your drop

Take measurements on the left, middle, and right sides from your ceiling to the floor. Measure from the inside of your cornice if you have one. Note which of the three is the largest.

If the discrepancy between your three measurements is more than 10 mm, proceed with puddling.

4. Choose your finish

You have three options to pick from when designing and ordering your curtains.

Please don’t add anything or subtract anything; just give us the hard measurements. To give you the ideal finish, we’ll make the required modifications.

Curtains that are barely off the floor will hover just over your floor and be around 5 to 10 mm shorter than your drop measurement.

Curtains will skim your floor by up to 5 mm if you choose to have them touch it.

Your curtains will puddle 20 mm on your floor if you decide to use puddling. Please let us know in the checkout comment section if you would prefer a larger puddle.

5. Choose your wand, stack option and track flow

Make a note of the wand you desire. It may seem apparent, but in order to reach a larger drop, your wand must be larger.

Make a note of whether you like a center opening, a left stack, a right stack, or several openings. Consider which side of your window you will want to open the most frequently and which is the simplest to reach and free of obstructions. Your motor will be on the stack side if you’re adding motorization. If you want center-opening curtains, select the motor side. Multiple slots are not eligible for motorization. You don’t need to change the measurements you took; we’ll make sure your motor fits.

You can select between a fixed flow track and a free flow track when placing your order. You have total control over how you open and stack your curtains with a free flow track. Free flow tracks do not have motorization.

6. Order your custom curtains online

You are prepared to place your curtain order! You will select your hem option at the time of ordering. Just keep in mind that we will take care of the hem measurement for you, so you don’t need to contribute anything additional.

Don’t forget to provide us with the precise measurements you took; don’t add or subtract anything for the finish you’ve selected.

We will mail out your cables as soon as possible if you order motorized curtains with a wired motor so that your electrician can begin wiring.

1. Measure your width

If you want drapes to cover the complete wall, measure and record the precise width between the two walls. Your track width will be this measurement.

Measure the precise outside width of your window frame or recess across the top and record it if you plan to use drapes to frame your window. Then, increase the overall width by around 30% so that your curtains hang to the window’s edge. Your track width will be this measurement. For instance, the width of the window frame is 1810 mm. You will provide us 2353 mm after adding 30% (543 mm).

We’ll determine how much fabric you need according on your track width, so don’t bother about measuring.

2. Measure your splits (optional)

A.You can select one or two splits for many openings and specify the precise location of each split. For sliding and bi-fold doors, splitting your curtains is a great way to make it simple to move portions of them to provide access to your doors.

Note the number of splits you want in your curtains. If you do not provide split measurements, we will presume that your splits are evenly spaced.

You can move on to step 3 if you don’t want any splits.

B. To create a custom split, measure the width from left to right and record the result.

Add your left stack allowance in millimeters to your width if you’re measuring from the left outside border of your window frame or recess. This will allow your curtains to hang off the windowpane. Put this measurement in writing.

C. Measure the lengths of each split location from left to right and record them for two bespoke splits.

Add your left stack allowance in millimeters to one or both widths if you’re measuring one or both splits from the left outside border of your window frame or recess. This will allow your curtains to hang off the windowpane. Put these measurements in writing.

3. Measure your drop

A. The beginning of your curtains will be measured and marked with a pencil; this will be the top of your curtain track. To ensure a level beginning point across the top, use your window frame or ceiling as a reference point. Keep in mind that hanging curtains from wall studs is the ideal option.

B. Take measurements on the left, middle, and right sides from where your curtain will begin to the floor, and note which is the largest of the three.

Please be aware that the measurement of the drop will be taken from the location of the track’s top mounting to the completed floor.

If the discrepancy between your three measurements is more than 10 mm, proceed with puddling.

4. Choose your finish

You have three options to pick from when designing and ordering your curtains.

Please don’t make any additions or subtractions; just give us your exact measurements. To give you the ideal finish, we’ll make the required modifications.

Our hints and tips

Are you curious about our best advice for measuring up like a pro?

  • To avoid inadvertently reversing your measurements, always write “width” and “drop” next to them.
  • Please only provide us the precise measurements that we request. Your blinds will be specially made by our specialists to fit your windows.
  • You don’t have to because we take typical deductions for recess blinds. To facilitate installation, the roller blind width will be 4 mm smaller. Face Fit roller blinds are precisely the right size; no measurements are taken.
  • Measure each window. We want all of your blinds to fit precisely because every window in every home may vary slightly in size.
  • We understand that every home is different, and if you need to chat, we can be reached at +61 414 959665.
